According to NCC News, this conference is the most important gathering of surveyors in a scientific, specialized environment with macro goals in the separate domains of economic, construction and development, which hosts the experts of this field every year.
NCC of Iran, as a national organization and leader in preparing and producing maps and spatial information of the country and the main reference for policy making, culturalization and macro-planning in this field, pays special attention to research and production of surveying science in its goals and policies.
It should be noted that the National Geomatics Conference is a manifestation of the efforts of National Cartographic Center of Iran to establish communication between members of the community for the exchange of ideas and knowledge sharing to help the growth of knowledge in the field of surveying. National Geomatics Conference is held so that specialists in spatial information and those interested in Geomatics knowledge could interact properly to benefit from each other’s knowledge and experience.
It is worth mentioning that the first conference in this field was held in 1992 as “Surveying Conference” and since 2000 it has been held as the Geomatics Conference every year with the efforts of experts, academics, professional and trade unions and surveying consulting engineers under the leadership and hosting of National Cartographic Center of Iran.
The formation of practical working groups has been a very effective step in attracting the participation of ministries and government organizations in improving the quality and quantity of the conference and the activity of their representatives and specialists in these working groups raises the place of spatial information in the management and decision-making system of the country to a very significant level.
Presenting 62 papers in the form of lectures and 54 papers in the form of posters and presenting the latest technologies and achievements in the field of Geomatics, in a 3D virtual exhibition with the participation of various academic, public and private sectors, are parts of this two-day Conference and exhibition schedule.
